They'll drop VBA when their customers let them.
I would expect that they will certainly retain it through the current
drawing format R2010, 2011, 2012 and probably the next one.
By that time every one will be on 64 bit O/Ss and probably hardware will
be so fast that while the current slowdowns reported will still exist
the overall speed will be acceptable.
They have already provided for use of .NET, but have not yet built in
VSPA (If I've got the acronym right?)
