Add Drawing Compare to Vault with huge history

If there any easy way to use Drawing Compare on old versions of Vaulted IDWs that doesn't have DWFs (only latest versions does have DWF)?

Hi Maxim,

Sorry for the very delayed response here - not sure how we missed this one, but drawing compare requires dwf files as this is and ADR functionality - you would need to be able to generate an old version dwf in order to compare.

Could you describe steps for creating DWF for not latest version of IDW
in the Vault?

Hi Maxim,

From the preview pane you need to select the previous revision and select "update view" - if you are looking to compare a dwf which is not associated with a revision and you would still like to do a comparison, you can download the previous version and generate a dwf from the CAD application which could be used in ADR to do a comparison.

Not sure what do you mean "From the preview pane you need to select the
previous revision". We don't use file revisions - we only have versions.

Comparing two drawing Versions (one of which doesn't have DWF) is what
interests me.

On the Preview tab of Preview Pane I do see drop-down list that gives
ability to choose file revision. But there is only "1" revision there
for all our drawings.

Unfortunately the drop-down control don't show versions....

Thus I don't see the way to initiate visualization on previous version
of file.

Am I missing something?

Hi Maxim,

As I mention in my post - if you are not using versions and you want to do a drawing compare this can be achieved by downloading the previous version files, create dwf and compare using ADR capabilities.

We DO use versions. What we don't use is file revisions.

So the only comparison method for us is outside the Vault.
