Been using VP2014 for several months and first complaint from users was the new "View Tabs" in 2014. I brushed it off hoping that they would get used to it, but they are not.
1) The view is too small to even see any detail. Need to increase the size to fill the entire window. The roll-o-deck feature is neat, but not sure who actually uses it. Isn't that what the history tab is for?
2) The time you save by not loading the full dwf is wasted when they have to hit the image to blow it up anyway. It actually slows the process down because you threw in the human element.
4) If the new viewing is a must, please put in a global option in set up to view like we used to, or the new way, and this would be a per work station setting.
Thanks for the kill switch on the ripoff of Apple's Cover Flow, as used in iTunes. If you want to implement that, it should have been at the previous level where the user is deciding which drawing or part they want to look at (the window above the preview area). Once that's selected, we don't need the thumbnail, we want the actual drawing to look at without having to click a second time. Again, thanks for the kill switch.
One additional note to this...we switched back to the previous mode, but now the window has shrunk and can't resize. Need the view pane larger as in previous versions. Will attach screen shot comparing previous builds to 2014.
FYI...we did switch 2014 back using kill switch. But, users complained because window was too small. Really comes into play on users with slower machines suchas manufacturing engineers who review change orders. View in Windows just is not an option. Waiting on drawing to load twice.I tried to get them to use 2014, but after much complaining from all CO reviewers (not just one), switched them back to 2013 client.
