This would also be helpful in Category Rules assignment. We have a semi-intelligent part numbering system where the first few digits define the category. Some have categories have overlapping prefixes (fixtures with different prefixes due to legacy assignment or running out of sequential numbers within a prefix group - hey, I only inherited the system) where a boolean assignment rule would allow me to assign multiple prefix groups to one category.
Like mentioned above I am missing the OR operator. And when havenig a AND and an OR operator there must be something like a group function as wel to bond them together.
Currently the saved search criteria acts as an AND operator. There is no OR operator in the saved search criteria. It would be nice if there was a way of implementing a search criteria similar to that of the filter settings. There is a lot more functionality in the Filter editor than in the saved search criteria. I can create much more complex searching criteria with this.
This search would then return:
BRT Parts of EXTRUSION NO - ACS100334
FST Assemblies
HZH Parts of EXTRUSION NO - ACS100306
Currently you would have to have 3 separate saved searches. one for each AND line.
@olearya the existing request would simply add the foundation for complex searches. But I would prefer a more user friendly approach. Trying to create long complex searches in a single line box can become tedious. I like the way the filter dialog is laid out and shows you a structure.
There are 4+1 searching methods, but no one is complete. Could be fine to have only one or two method but completed with boolean expressions and flexible options. If you use 5* on quick search (token searching tool) you do not get ISO Standard results (everything start with 5).
