Not sure if this is an Inventor or Vault feature request, but when I run Place From Vault I don't want to see IDW or DWG files. They can't be placed into an assembly anyway. It's okay to see them if I'm doing Open From Vault but not Place From Vault.
While looking into this issue, discovered in the latest Inventor/Vault version, when File of type: is selected "Component Files (*.ipt, *.iam)", Inventor idw and dwg are filter out. Is this the expected behavior you are looking for?
