who is logged in?

Is there a way to view who is currently logged into the Vault? A way to
monitor activity?

ADMS for C3D 2008.

Thanks,

No. Logging in is only used to grab the permissions of a user. The server
doesn't keep track of who is "logged in."

You can montior other things such as file check-outs, file check-ins and....
um... that's about it.

Thanks Doug:

I really like your last sentence though. How do I monitor check-outs and
check-ins?

In the vlog*.txt files? Or are you talking about Vault Explorer?

I was referring to the "Advanced Find" feature in Vault Explorer. You can
do an advanced search to find, for example, all the new files added in the
past 24 hours. Or you can search all the files checked in by a certain user
and a certain date range.
"Date Version Created" is the property you want to focus on for date ranges.
When a file is checked out, it creates a temporary version of the file. So
"Date Version Created" is really the checkout time. The "Checked In"
property tells when the file has been checked in.

If you know how to program with the Vault API, you can write a program to
automate all of these searches and generate reports.

The vlog files are there mainly for error reporting. I don't think you can
use it to trace normal, working behavior.

Who i s logged in

I think all answers are in vlog files.

This file keep not only raports about errors but who is logged in ( for example)

2011-03-18 07:22:59 Get license(496173112) for a user name (********) and ID (91), host(11.12.13.14).
2011-03-18 07:23:00 *******************************************************************
Errork Soap ( id komunikatu = 634360297807521729 )
Wyjątek: GetFileFailed [1013]
Server stack trace:
   w Connectivity.Document.BusinessLogic.FileBL.GetFilesByMasterId(Int64 masterId)
   w Connectivity.Document.Services.FileService.GetFilesByMasterId(Int64 masterId)
   w System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.Message.Dispatch(Object target, Boolean fExecuteInContext)
   w System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.StackBuilderSink.SyncProcessMessage(IMessage msg, Int32 methodPtr, Boolean fExecuteInContext)

Only need to access to this file and looking for a text Get license(496173112) for a user name (********) and ID (91), host(11.12.13.14). It is simple.

But is complicated when you don't have access to this file.

First solution is working with vlog file
