so far I managed to create some virtual components in an Inventor 2011 assembly and check that in to Vault.
The virtual components do show up in the assemblies BOM with correct units and quantity. What does not work is mapping iProperties to the Vault items. For example we have user defined properties for description and multi-language materials and surface. The mapping doesn't not seem to apply to virtual components.
