Hi
Vault is displaying a message saying: This operation requires data from C:\WF\Designs\.........CX-330981-1718.ipt
But it can not be found(!?) The document may have been moved, renamed or deleted.
But the file IS there, as shown. What is going on?
We're running Inventor 2013 and Vault pro 2013
Thanks
Andersen

Is the drawing file for that part the one that is throwing the error? Could there be some data that was embedded into the part file, such as a table, that got deleted somehow?
I'm reaching....

This is not a standalone incident. 4 users has experienced this error. It happens on checking in iam, ipt or idw's. Often when multiple files are open and esp. a iam is open.
No imbedded data.
When do you see this message? Is it during Open from Vault OR during Open from Disk?
Also, just noticed that the error window you show is from Inventor, not Vault. Senthil asks a good question, when exactly are you getting this error?

The error occurs on opening a file from within Vault (seems to be Inventor returning the error)
It is hard to reproduce on demand.
Often happens if your working on multible files that are all open, ex. 4 files and you open a 5th related file.
Have you found any fix to this issue ?
We are experiencing the same issue.
Thanks
We've experienced this issue over the years, even with 2015. In every single instance that it happens restarting Inventor solves the problem. We've never been able to reproduce it so I don't have much else to offer. Its been so infrequant that its never been a major issue
Mike
We figured out as well to restart Inventor helped but it is definitely frustrating.
Update.
Error occurs on Open, Save, Demote but most of all on inserting parts from Content Center.
Many times each day. Our vendor has no clue to fixing this problem.
Very very annoying.
Desperately

Have you opened a support case with Autodesk on this?

You are right, Chris.
Any way to transfer this thread to the Inventor group?

Hi Chris
No not yet. Hoped (Read:expected) Autodesk where screening the forum every once in a while.
Looking at their monthly summary week by week on solved issues, I found out that solved only means this:
Status: This incident is currently being investigated for a possible cause and resolution.
That is not a solution i my book.
When/if they find a solution, will it be shared on the forum?

Hi
The user has now done this, and we'll see if it will have any effect.
FYI: the user that has bin most annoyed by this issue, had his pc formatted and reinstalled with Windows 10-64, Inventor 2016(PDSU) and Vault Pro 2016 on the 29th of march and today this issue has started showing up on the new installation.
As mentioned we have now followed the above directions and we'll see how things turn out.

Carsten
We experienced the described issue as well.
This thread started 3.5 years ago, what is the status of this known issue Autodesk?
I've had a little time to think about this, and I'm still coming up blank. One thing bothers me though. The error does not state that it cannot find the file. It states that it requires DATA from the file. Which brings up some questions. There has to be a common thread here. Are these Content Center parts? Could they have been derived from assemblies?
I ask this because I have experienced issues with Content Center parts derived from an assembly (since Inventor still cannot publish an assembly), where the original assembly was changed, deleted or moved. The Content Center component is still looking for the original data from the assembly that was derived. In my case I usually get resolve link errors, but I can't help but wonder if this is part of it.
Those of you who are experiencing or have experienced this error, can you chime in on my questions above? It may be way off, but I thought it was worth asking.
