Vault Performance after Lifecycle and category update

Hi All,

We recently applied some updates to our Vault Collaboration 2012 environment. These included 3 new Lifecycles and about 10 new folder and file categories. We also disabled some existing categories and created some new custom extensions for the Vault client. These revolve around some additional functionality for file classification when loading new files only.

Since these updates users have been noticing intermittent performance issues ranging from the client freezing while trying to check out a file, to just all round slow performance when doing standard things such as searching or navigating through the folder structure.

We are in the process of testing this on a client without the custom extensions installed, but is there anything we can do on the server side we might be missing? There are a large number of files in this Vault instance - is it possible when we re-classified the folders to the new categories this caused some upset in the indexes? Is there any setting any where to rebuild all indexes/tune performance or does this need to be done through SQL Server?

Any help appreciated - this is causing some upset with users as you can imagine!

Cheers.
