We have a mechanical library of parts that we want to use in our assemblies. If you try to check out a part from the library and modify it , vault will not allow this which it is correct in doing so. If we check out an assembly from the vault that contains the part, we can then check out the part, modify it and check it back into vault. I even locked down the part in vault so that it was not available for check out and it could still be modified. This is not a good thing to have happen. How can we solve this problem?
Are you talking about Inventor parts? Content Center? What version and flavor of Vault are you using?
