Hi,
These warnings should be treated with some concern. The meaning is that the files listed no longer match the checksum stored in the database - this checksum is used to ensure the files are unchanged.
I'd suggest running check disk or some other utility to make sure you are not having harddrive problems on your server. Checksum failures can often indicate hardware problems - especially with the hard drive.
Regarding these specific files, the vaulted file name and version are in the log:
'DAD-1-001.ipt' version 2
'2008071-674-01-03.ipt' version 2
If these are older versions of the file, you could just purge them. However first, I'd definitely recommend investigating whether you have some impending hardware failure.
Hope this helps,
Paul
Thanks Paul for your reply,
I have no problems with my hard drive as I checked, I think its a migration issue as the problems didn't happen until I upgraded to 2012. I was running vault 2009 and the back was running just fine without any errors, then when I upgraded to 2012 and started running the backup, I started to get those errors.
Should I just purge those files?
Hi,
Purging the files sounds like the best solution at this point. I'd just recommend monitoring the backup logs moving forward to make sure this isn't a recurring problem.
Paul
Is there any recommended way of purging those files? or do I have to go to Windows Explorer and find those files and delete them manually?
thanks again
Hi,
You would do this from the vault client. Find the file you want to purge [either navigate if you know where it is or use search], right-click on the file and there should be a 'purge' command in the context menu. This will give you a little wizard where you can pick purge criteria - like how many versions before the latest should be retained. Just use criteria that would force the bad version to be purged..
