VM2010...An interface question for the PDs

Is there any particular reason why the *Detailed Description* field on the
general tab is only capable of showing three lines at a time...while nearly
taking up the space that would be required to show four?

The ECO in the example only has seven lines total in the detailed
description...which is a short one for us, because we really do go into
detail about our ECOs there. But even with a small one like this, to see it
all at once I have to copy the text and paste it into a text file.

Think about that for a moment.

There's a bunch of empty space on that tab, as well as several fields that
are way bigger than they need to be. For example, the Date Submitted filed
has an automatic, standard format that's 21 characters long, but the field
itself is over twice that big. Worse yet, the Due Date field is the same
size, while only actually using 10 characters.

All in all, I'm pretty sure that if whoever designed the VM user interface
actually had to use the program to do their work, a whole lot of really
awkward and nonsensical stuff would get fixed in a hurry....

Thanks Tommy. A good thing would be to turn the General tab into a tool for
organizing and planning an ECO. Perhaps the description field could be
expanded to it's own text editor window, with capability for bullet points
and indented lists. That would allow us to create a to-do list with items
that could be checked off as they were done. If you could also insert
images and hyperlink to other documents, that would be just unspeakably
cool.

Cheers,
Walt

Hi Walt,

Thanks for your further suggestions.

If you want to make some other files as reference, like images or documents, you can Edit the ECO and go to the Files tab to attach the reference files you want from the Vault.

And you can use the Markup functionality on Files tab to indicate what/where should be changed on a file.
