No, Wnidows XP x86 is supported with Vault 2012.

Sorry, I have a question about database size for Vault 2012.
With Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP2 Express Edition Service Pack 2 the DB limit is 4Gb.
Can I pre-install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express If I want to have 10GB limit?
Thanks and WBR
Yes, Vault 2012 does support SQL 2008 R2 Express. You can either pre-install SQL 2008 R2 Express (please consult the advanced configuration guide for instructions to ensure the engine is named properly) or you can upgrade an existing SQL 2008 express database engine to 2008 R2 Express.
One additional note. Even if SQL Server 2008 R2 Express supports a Vault size of 10 GB - the limits for other resources CPU = 1 and RAM = 1 GB still remains. (http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/edit
So you performance will probably start to suffer as your Vault database grows in size. Consider the full versions of SQL Server if you start to fell performance degradation.

Hi, good morning.
How I can know if I am on the limit of usage of sqlexpress on vault professional 2011?
How I can know how many memory of SQL Im using?
How I can know if 1 processor is good or need to buy SQL standar?
Limits for other resources is not a problem for as. We have only 3 Inventor work seat & subscription.
8-00 - check-in and 17-00 - check out. Speed not a limit for us (for us, not for all users).
For ADMS I use old PC with XPSP3 & all hot fix and update.
I install 4 HDD (all - from old PC) and use separate physical HDD for system, DB, Vault working folder, TEMP and page file.
Next step - add memory and test RAMDISK from http://www.dataram.com for working folder
Full versions of SQL Server is a true and good solution. But not low-cost solution.
Xeon-based server class PC + Server OS + RAID HDD + Mr. System Administrator. And high version of Vault for separate Vault explorer for PC with CAM and logistic etc. Not possible for 3 Inventor worker.
The great problem for us is separate Vault explorer.
Not possible to introduce Vault in workshop process without Vault explorer on CAM etc. PC.
The Vault Explorer that comes with Inventor (the base Vault) requires a qualifying supported CAD application to also be installed on the computer.
We have network license and I use CAD-installation for non-CAD PC only for using Vault Explorer.
Lost time and additional work.
1. Vault Explorer that comes with Inventor 2012 (the base Vault) requires a qualifying supported CAD application to also be installed on the computer?
2. We have also 5 ACAD LT. Can ACAD LT 2012 work with Vault?
3. RAMDISK for Vault working folder is a true way?
Thanks and WBR
I wouldn't recommend using a RAM disk on the vault server for a couple main reasons:
1) When the machine is powered off, you lose anything stored on the RAM disk - definitely *not* what you want for storing vault databases or filestores on!
2) The RAM disk will consume memory that would be better utilized by SQL Server.
