Unattended Check-In and Get Latest Version via Task Scheduler

My superiors would like a system in place that automatically checks-in every Inventor file of a given project in the evening after the user has left, and automatically gets the latest version of every Inventor file of a give project from the Vault in the morning before the user arrives.  This way, every morning, everyone's local workspace is up-to-date with the Vault and should minimize the amount of time spent during working hours to synchronize.

Task Scheduler, of course, was the first thing I thought of.

I created the two tasks, and they have been executing on schedule for the last two days. But I'm finding either a major shortcoming with the Task Scheduler, or I'm not using it correctly.  Allow me to explain.

A user has the files A.IPT and B.IPT checked out of the Vault when the daily check-in task is created.  That night, A.IPT and B.IPT are automatically checked in to the Vault ("Keep checked out" is enabled).  The next day, the user additionally checks out C.IPT.  That night, A.IPT and B.IPT are again checked in - but C.IPT is not, because it wasn't checked out when the task was created.  The next day, the user creates a new file, D.IPT - but it's not checked in that night, either, for the same reason.

We have a similar problem with Get Latest Version.

The problem lies in the fact that during the creation of the check-in task, a list of the currently checked-out files appears.  That seems to be counter-productive to the idea of automating a daily task.  We want EVERYTHING in the folder tree to be checked in every night and EVERYTHING in the Vault folder tree to be copied to the local workspaces every morning.

Is this something that's just not possible with the Task Scheduler?

Hi,

Thank you for posting this issue and I am able to reproduce it also. I have forwarded this to development for further investigation.

Unfortunately I do not have any workaround/solution to this issue for now. If I get a one I will definitely let you know.

Thanks again!
