When we do a search with "search subfolders" checked, is there a way to view the Vault file path for a specific file without going to the folder? Is there any option for this in custom view or properties?
I really need to know what folder the searched files are in.
You can customise the view to show the "Path" property

I cannot find "Path" under the customize view options.
I'm using Vault Collaboration 2011.
The "Path" field is a new feature in Vault 2012. You would need to upgrade to take advantage of that.
yes but you would have to fill it in on every file manually or via code.

You guys should be wearing a mask, this is one of the most basic features I can think of - not putting it in and then telling people to upgrade really has a significant impact on your reputation - disgusted.
In earlier versions of vault, a file could have many paths because it could be "shared" to multiple folders. All shares were considered equal so there was no "primary" path. Once we finished phasing out shares (we replaced them with links), we were able to show a property in the grid for the path.
