Setting up Vault Working Folder

I am a member of the Methods Engineering Group responsible for CAM. We use the ipt files as an aid to CNC programming. After setting up the default working folder for the Methods group, we find that Vault reconstructs the folder hierarchy (we only want to create a copy of the ipt and place it in a folder without the folder hierarchy.

Vault creates this path:

G:\Methods\PCC\INVENTOR MODELS\00000000\!RP000000\RP090000-RP110000-Packing Cases\2.25-00-L1-P0-T0-W1-(1811342) GE Static Seal\

We want the ipt only placed here:

G:\Methods\PCC\INVENTOR MODELS\

Does anyone know what can be done to achieve this, other than modifiying the override WF everytime?

hi, Thank you for the posting.

You can change the working folder for a paricular folder via File menu►Properties dialog►General tab, see wiki (the enfore working folder option shall off).

The setting will be saved in client configuration file, you can copy WorkingFolders.xml from 'C:\Documents and Settings\<OS username>\Application Data\Autodesk\VaultCommon\Servers\Services_Security_1_20_2011\<server>\Vaults\<Vault>\Objects', apply it to other clients machine if necessary.

Hope it helps.
