The best thing to do, if you don't want to use the MSDE instance that the
server will install, is to install a new instance on your server, called
"AUTODESKVAULT", setting the "sa" password to "AutodeskVault". Then, the
Vault 4 server installer will use that instance.

Yes, and yes. Creating a new instance is accomplished via an installation,
as is an upgrade install of MSDE to full SQL.
