SQL Instance name AUTODESKVAULT and ALIAS/CLICONFG

A lot of our customers have outsourced their IT-deparment, and the ASP companies are not at all (mildly put) happy to have SQL-servers running with "AUTODESKVAULT" as the instance-name.

We've tried to add a network alias using CLICONFG, but can't get this to work. Is it supported?

Secondly, when do Autodesk plan to make the SQL-server instance name configurable?

(BTW: The saga continues with mixed mode user authentication requirement and SA-passwords....)

Hi Hans,

I'm sorry to say this is not a supported configuration. I've raised this issue to management for consideration in future releases.

In the mean time, please let me know if you see other IT-related concerns with the product. I agree that this is an area that needs to be addressed.
