Perfect Vault Server

Ok I need a bit of help regarding setting up the “Perfect Vault Server” for Vault Manufacturing 2011.

I am thinking of using Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 (not R2) Standard with SP1.

I read on the net that a load of people have had issues installing SQL2008 on Server 2008R2. Is this a 100% supported platform for Vault 2011?

Also may I install Server 2008 SP1?

 

Hardware will be HP Proliant Server with 4Gb Ram. Would this memory be enough? The database is about 8Gb and FS about 350Gb.

we have SQL2008 on Server 2008R2 with no issues, regarding SQL service packs you can only install the ones supported by the latest version of vault server you have installed. If the SP came out after your installed version of Vault server then generally its not supported. Search this forum, there are several threads about it.
