Hi
Our company has a networked version of Vault 2012 and AutoCad P&ID, and a regular seat of AutoCad LT 2012. One paticular user only works out of Cad LT 2012 and every time he opens a DWG directly from Vault the default program that opens it up is P&ID.
Even if he has been working out of Cad Lt with drawings open and everything, if he opens anything up from vault, it will open P&ID. The only way to work out of Cad LT is to check out the file from Cad LT
How can I specify for this user profile to make AutoCad LT the default when opening files up in Vault 2012
Please advise
Mike
The short answer is,... don't open files directly from the Vault. The CAD program should have a Vault Plug in menu, with a button to "Open From Vault". The programs were designed with this being the recommended best practice. Opening from the Vault directly can be done, but as you've seen it can cause a variety of issues.
