How Can We Verify our SA Password?

We'd like to upgrade from Vault Pro 2013 to 2014.  Our sys admin recalls being asked for the SA password the last time we tried to upgrade and we spent some time trying to find out what it was.  So this time, he wants to make sure we know what it is before we attempt an upgrade.

How do we verify that the password we think will work actually does?  I thought about trying to change the password, but I can't see how to do that, either.

Thanks.  Yes, I found that in the wiki - but how do we test to make sure?  I don't know if the sys admin changed it or not.

i think you can use the SQL Server Management Studio tool to verify

Open a command prompt (aka DOS shell) on the machine where SQL resides and enter:

    osql -S .\AUTODESKVAULT -U sa -P AutodeskVault@26200 -Q quit

If you are returned to the command prompt, you used the correct password.

If it fails you will see "Login failed for user 'sa'."

Thanks Dave.  I'll have him give that a try.

He tried the procedure Dave described and verified that the password was unchanged from the default.

The IT system engineer thought there was another one that he encountered during the last upgrade.  I guess we'll see when we get there with the next upgrade.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and patience.
