Folder Category rule

I have file categories and folder categories. All my files were categorized and the appropiate lifecycle applied immediately after creating my file category rule.

Unfortunately, the folder categories didn't do the same. I have to select a folder, pick change category, and say apply rules. How can I have the folders inherit their rule properties automatically (including upon folder creation)?

Category Rules do not apply to folders.  Files only.

I'm using 2014 Professional and I have the ability to create folder rules (see screenshots).

Unfortunately, they have to be applied manually.

Unless someone knows of a way to at least have them applied during folder creation?

Sorry, I meant to say the automatic assignment applies to files on creation.
