Export list of files with paths from Productstream

The advanced search for file type only permits an export of 100 files to Excel. It is desirable to be able to export a complete list of all files in Productstream (Vault) to Excel.

There are two options:
1. Increase the page size and get all pages then export the report. Not
the most desirable method as this may require pushing the 'More' button
many times.

2. Use the new report tool in Productstream 2010 create a custom report
and run it.

Creating the custom report does require some skills. Read the included
documentation which will direct you to some additional reference
materials to get you started.

I created an utility to export the list of all the files in Vault to Excel. Please find the attachment and refer readme for more information.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. From the error message, it appears to me that there is an issue with initializing excel application. Could you please let me know if the other users have the same version of excel that you have?

Perhaps, I could try modifying the utility to export to txt file so that anyone can just drag and drop the TXT file in Excel application to see the content.

Madhan

The other users have Office 2003 products. I thought that might be the issue also...
If you could modify the app to export a txt file, that would be great. thanks!!

Trying to get this to work with Autodesk Vault Professional 2011 Update 2 and it keeps erroring out when I try to generate the list.

"Error! Please verify the Log In credentials.. or enter a valid Report Path.."

I am 110% positive that my log in credentials and report path are valid.  Is there any way you can get this to work for Vault 2011?

Thanks for your help and time.

Disregard this question.  The reporting tool can be used in the Vault to create a clean list of ALL files in the Vault.

Advanced Find

Report

File Table.RDCL

Export to XLS

Hellow Madhan,

We do not have productstream, just Vault 2011. I am trying to use your excel output script ("Export Files List to Excel.exe") but I keep getting following error. (See image)

I don't think I am using wrong credentials.

With this being an old thread, and there has not been any responses from Autodesk on this, I am hoping there is a more up to date application of this program.  We are looking to upgrade to 2015 soon and I am getting the same error as shown in the last couple of postings.

Some feedback from Autodesk would be greatly appreciated in this thread.
