Error message while opening Acad2010 files from Vault 2013

Hello,

we use Vault Collaboration 2013 for Inventor files.

Now we want to save also the "old" Mechanical files in Vault.

Checking in the Mechanical files (*.dwg / Acad 2010) into Vault works.

BUT when opening them from Vault there are those error messages:

"Open Drawing - Errors Found One error was found in the drawing file during open. Would you like to cancel this open? It is recommended you cancel the open and then run the RECOVER command on the drawing file"

... after recover:

"Auditing AcDsRecords Total errors found 2 fixed 2 Erased 1 objects"

Vault Build 17.1.16.0 - Update 1

How to solve this Problem?

Thanks in advance

Markus

Hello Markus,

The files you’ve checked in were created with an older AutoCAD Mechanical release (apparently 2010) and now you are working with a newer state of the CAD (presumably the same as Vault i.e. 2013), aren’t you? Well, during the initial checking in to the Vault they will be migrated to the AutoCAD format 2013 and this operation may modify them. That’s why they must be recovered now.

If you have a backup of the original documents you may first migrate them and afterwards check in to Vault. Such approach should avoid recovering vaulted files.

Otherwise you have to check out the affected files in the currents state, recover them and check in again.

Hope it helps.

Hi Olaf,

I was very busy, so I had to stop analysing this Problem.

Unfortunately the case 08707124 has been closed, but the problem is not solved!

Please find attached the acad 2010 file before check in (Test VOR CHECK IN.dwg)

and the file after check in with the "need to recover" (Test NACH CHECK IN.dwg).

After check in the file there is no problem with opening.

I had to do change state, check in, check out .... then after a few check's the "need to recover" came up!

Regards

Markus
