DWF creation & configuration: who made who?

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to understand to which application is the creation of dwf(x) files on a Vault Client machine assigned.

I 've searched both the discussion grup forum & other resources but I was unable to find a definitive answer.

Imagine I have a client machine with:

Win7 sp1 64bit

Vault 2012 Workgroup

Autocad Mechanical 2012

DWG TrueView 2012

Design REview 2012

Inventor Pro 2012

To which of this apps is, by default, assigned the creation of dwf visualization files created locally by vault (and not by the Job Server). Where could I intervene to change the settings and configurations of dwf? I already know the Vault Visualization configuration, but I read of other possible configurations by xml file, setup.dwg, trueviewsetup etc etc and

it' s not so clear at all.

Thank you very much.

Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,

Please have a look at the following article and let me know if you have further questions.  This post is getting a little old but believe apart from a few changed paths it should still be relevant and hopefully shed more light on fine-tuning dwf creation at least for AutoCAD.

Thanks.

Is this still valid for new Vault releases?

In your answer you talk about Autocad, is it different for DWG made with Inventor?

Hi Riccardo,

Apologies for my delay in getting back to you here!

All dwg files should be created via dwg trueview with all other formats idw, ipn, iam and ipt created with Inventor (apprentice).

I will likely look at creating a wiki article for this based on the information across blog sites etc.

Hi,

I have used this solution with the Vault 2010 and it's work fine.

But with the version 2012 and 2013 it don't work.

This solution was published November 24, 2009 and nothing since.
Is there an update?

Regards

Dom

Hi,

I have found the difference between the version 2010 and the new versions.

In the publications options on the Vault we must uncheck in the AUTOCAD Common use user sheet parameters.

And now it work fine.

Dominique
