Custom applications using API

If I was to write a custom application using ProductStream APIs, must ProductStream itself be installed on each workstation that the custom application is to be installed on?

We have some clients that are intrested in certain specific custom applications but they do not have product stream nor inventor on all of the workstations that would require the application to run on.

Please see the license agreement - there is a section that states this:

10. COLLABORATION PRODUCTS. If Autodesk identifies the Software as Autodesk
Productstream, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk Showcase, Autodesk Intent or a
“Manufacturing Collaboration” product (each, a “Manufacturing Collaboration
Product”), the following additional terms and conditions apply: The License
Parameters may be different for each individual Software program, module,
component or set of software functionality. In addition to the license
granted in Section 2.1 (License Grant), You may Access the application
programming interfaces (“APIs”) included with or in the Manufacturing
Collaboration Product to develop programs, modules, components or
functionality that (i) are compatible with and are used and/or interfaced
with the Software and (ii) contribute significant value-added functionality
or enhancements to the Software (“API Modules”) provided You may Install and
Access such API Modules solely on computers where a licensed copy of the
Software is also installed and further provided such Installation and Access
is solely in connection with Your Installation and Access of the Software
and solely for Your internal business needs. You may not redistribute all
or any portion of an API Module.

What this is saying is that you need a license of Productstream that has the
appropriate amount of access that you are looking to do - for example a web
client (PS Explorer) license is good enough if they just want to search and
view stuff... but if they need to edit a lifecycle state or create an item
they need a PS Creator license.

Hope this helps
