One of our Vault users who has both AutoCAD and Inventor installed tried to use AutoCAD's "Check In Folder" command for the first time .
As a result OldVersions folders with all contents (backups of Inventor files) were uploaded to the Vault together with AutoCAD files.
As for me AutoCAD commands should upload only DWG files (at least all notes at "Check in" section in http://help.autodesk.com/view/VAULT/Help/ENU/?contextId=NOHELPID are referencing DWGs).
Do I misunderstand something?

Could try the workaround at http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=5331328&linkID=9240617
Please note there is typo at the above webpage, the extension of the file type should write within “Folder CheckIn Options” instead of “CheckIn Options”.
For Vault 2014, the xml file is found at %appdata%\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014 Vault Addin\ApplicationPreferences.xml
Hope this helps.
Hello,
The link in the solution box does not appear to work anymore. I found the above from 2009. It only seems to address file extensions. We are transitioning from 2D to 3D so we are still using mechanical (2014). We use the check in folder in mechanical quite a bit and I would like to exclude the "OldVesions" folders created by Inventor but I can't figure it out. Here is what I tried in the xml file but it is not working.
<Category ID="R19.1-ACAD-D005:409.<<ACADMPP>>.Folder CheckIn Options">
<Property Name="Exclude" Value=".?\.(?:bak|OldVersions|log|tmp|temp|lck|db|err|dwl)$" />
Any advise would be appreciated.
Windows 7 path
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014 Vault Addin<ApplicationPreferences.xml>
Unfortunately, excluding folder is not supported.
