Hello Bolle,
in an earlier post Doug mentioned that once the backup is done, you can rename
the backup directory created by the Vault.
So the question is: how do you know which directory to rename, right?
A couple possible solutions:
1. you can use a script (WSH, perl, etc) to figure out the name of the new
directory
2. you can make sure that the new directory is the one and only directory
that can be renamed (or synched to FTP).
let me give you an example of #2:
- lets say your backups go into c:\backup
- make sure this directory is empty (no files/subdirectories)
- run Vault backup - it creates a new directory c:\backup\Vault XYZ
- now you can syncronize the C:\backup directory to your FTP site (if you
are keeping multiple backups on the site)
- or you can rename the Vault* directories (there is only one) to your fixed
name, and then synchronize it to the FTP site
- after synchronization is done, you need to clean out the c:\backup directory
- delete the backup or move it somewhere else
