Autodesk Inventor Vault Installation on Windows Server 2008 R2

Good Day,

I have installed Autodesk Inventor Vault Server on a Windows 2008 Server. The instructions I have are incomplete and refer to a 2003 Server installation. I am trying to set up IIS for remote access to the vault, and I have a couple of questions.

1. Do I need to purchase a certificate to put under the site called "Inventor Vault"?

2. How can I test the installation to see if it is working?

Best Regards,

Greg Dinnsen

Hi Greg,

You are trying to have users connect to Vault from outside of the firewall without VPN?  I believe you should only have to ensure the ports are open to communication - testing should be fairly straight forward in terms of pinging the server from an external device, connect using a client or try to resolve one of the Vault services.
