I'm setting up Vault Manufacturing 2010 on a new server (old server is having hardware issues). The server OS is Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 32bit.
Everything installed properly and I did a restore from the old server's backup. However, when I go to Tools > Administration on the ADMS console, I get this error:
Autodesk Data Management Console could not find Data Management Services on 127.0.0.1.
Clients cannot log in either. They can see the Vault in the server, however authentication doesn't work.
Firewall is OFF on the server and there is no AV software installed yet.
I have a client with the exact same problem that started after a power outage. Vault had been set up and working fine, now they are having the same problems mentioned in the earlier post. Any ideas would be helpful.
Directly on the server, are you able to browse to:
Also, do you have any proxy settings enabled inside of Internet Explorer? (Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings ->) If there is a proxy enabled, please set an exclution for the Vault Server - also remove the check box for Automatically Detect settings if that is enabled.
Ww are having the same issue..on the server i can browse to
We never did discern what the true problem was. My guys just decided to uninstall both ADMS and IIS and then do a reinstall and a restore from backup. That took care of the problem, but we still don't know what the root of the issue was. Thanks for the responses, it's reassuring to know that there are peers willing to lend a hand when you need it.
If you can get to http://localhost/AutodeskDM/Services/SecurityServi
Sorry to drag up an older thread, but this has started occuring at our workplace also. It was working fine, and then we had an unexpected power outage, then since coming back online it is coming up with the same error as posted above.
We can get to Localhost on the server PC, but cannot access the SecurityService.asmx file as specified above. Also, there is no firewall on this server and no proxies are setup either.
Any other things we can try?
On your server, are you able to open any of the IIS pages?
http://Localhost (should show either the IIS7 welcome screen or an UnderConstruction window)
http://127.0.0.1 (should show either the IIS7 welcome screen or an UnderConstruction window)
Do the Vault ASP pages process correctly?
If they do not, please make sure that "Show Friendly HTTP Errors" is disabled inside of Internet Explorer (Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced) and upload an image or a copy paste of the error listed at the bottom - it may be referring to a temporary folder permission issue.
Also, make sure the SQL Server instance is started automatically when the machine is rebooted. You can check this in the "SQL Server Configuration Manager" under "SQL Server Services". Make sure "SQL Server (AUTODESKVAULT)" is in the running state and it's start mode is set to automatic.
Thanks for those suggestions but neither one worked.
http://LocalHost - Gave me the IIS welcome screen
http://127.0.0.1 - goes to a user login screen (a windows ones), putting in a usr/pwd doesn't do anything, and cancelling leads to a login in fail screen
"SQL Server (AUTODESKVAULT)" is up and running and set to automatic.
Looking through the ADMSConsoleLog file, the following errors appear at the time i am trying to access the administration information in ADMS.

I think there is a user/pwd issue somewhere, but i have no idea where and don't understand why a power failure would cuase this issue. (This has happened previously, and the only way we were able to fix it was to doa full reinstall of windows and ADMS, not something i want to through everytime this happens.)
EDIT: Trying to access those directories from another PC (on the same network), gets me a "Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." error. And if i try to access the SecurityServices.asmx file, i get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. But i can access the webpages i have inserted into various directories.
