I have always done my backups manually but have decided to start doing them by sch.
So yesterday I sch one to happen last night but it did not.
My questions is two fold:
1) Do I need to stay logged into my server for the sch backup to happen?
2) Do I also need to stay logged into ADMS for the sch backup to happen?

FYI..If you leave your ADMS Console open, it will prevent a backup from occuring. You must close it.
Task manager will start your backup using .bat file or the like. The syntax can be found in the help.

Not 100% sure how it all works...but, I believe the impersonation user (Tools/admin/Advanced Settings/Advanced configuration settings - Settings/) must have full rights too. This user is what ADMS users to do the backup.
When you developed the sch backup it ask for a user name and pw for the task. I used my own since I am the admin.
That then becomes part of the bat file that is generated.
You mention "task manager" using this bat file but I do not see that on my server. Task Manager is on all of the CAD bxoes but not the server.
So I guess I am unclear as to what to do once I have used ADMS to develkop the bat file that runs the sch backup.
If you have used the Scheduled Backup option in ADMS, that will automatically create a repetitive task in Windows Task Scheduler and no further actions are required.
It should be in Windows "Task Scheduler" instead of "Task Manager" that you can check on the task.

Thanks for clearing that up Samuel.
I did stayed logged into the server last night (but not ADMS) and when I came in this morning the sch backup had happened.
The only issue with that is my IT group does not want me staying logged into the server all night since that is when they have system maintenance tasks happening also. Will have to work with them on scripting this so we can both get what we need done.
Thanks
Sorry about the confusion on my end, but an old school Vaulter here.
When did this backup scheduling go into the product? I'm still scripting the old fashioned way.
Thru bat files and task scheduler.
You can use both and the Backup Wizard that we added to the product essentially creates a one line backup script and creates the Windows Schedueled Task for you.
The created backup script does not do the folder rotation (A/B).
