ADMS Console - From a different machine?

Hi all..

I work in IT, and I support a group of guys who are heavy users of Inventor Routed Systems Suite..

They have a vault set up on one of our servers, and they have recently been looking into adding libraries to the content centre.

From what I understand, they need to be using the ADMS console directly ON the server. Is this correct? The Network Infrastructure guys are very unwilling to give the guys direct access via RDP to the server so that they can use the console.

Is there a way to have the console installed on one of the users machines, and have it manage the ADMS remotely?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The ADMS Console is already running on the server if you have a Vault there.
It has to be that way. Fortunately, there are few Vault functions that
can't be accessed from the client consoles on the user's machines.
Furthermore, some of the functions that can only be performed from the
server console can be scripted to run automatically. This means that
engineering will need access to the server console infrequently.

Still, there are a few things that require direct access to the server
console. Either someone from Engineering will need that access, or will
have to come to IT every time they need to get in there...and that will be
painfully inefficient for everyone. This is another excellent argument
(there are several) for a dedicated server for Vault. As CAD Administrator,
I have a remote login to our vault server for the times when I need to
manage my Vaults, but when I'm in there, the only thing I could potentially
break is our own sandbox.

Inventor users are typically not computer dunces. There should be someone
in the group who can be trusted with occasional access to the Vault server.

Cheers,
Walt
