Vault Showing Strikethrough Text but not checked out?

I have some parts I checked in they show now striked through but the circle to the left is white and no check amrk. When other users go to check them out it says I have them checked out even thoug I don't? Is this a known bug in Vault Pro 2013 with users on 2012?

Hi Andrew,

Can you check the property "checked out to" and "checked out machine" - it may be that the files were checked out to another PC.  If you are not modifying the files and just want to unlock them or they are checked out to another machine you cannot access then you should be able to undo check out on these files (No changes will be saved).

It was checked out to me on my machine even though it did not show it was checked out to me. Now I could hover over it and it would say it was checked out it just did not have the check mark. Once I checked them back in they were fine, but it would not let me check them back in.

When I was looking in to this I also noticed the files checked out by other users were showing as strike-through as well. What would be causing this?

Hey,

The strikethrough means its not available for checkout, so you of course should only see this on files checked out to somewhere or someone else.

A few more questions regards your last reply as I was not clear:

Does this now occurring for all users?

Are you able to undo check out on these files and resolve the issue or does it reoccur?

Has this just started happening after a server upgrade?

What size is your Vault database?

What is weird is the fact they show the little icon like they are avalible but are strike though like they are not avlible. Then come to find out they are checked out to somone.

Yes it is happening for all user

No I am not able to Undo but I was able to check in the ones I had out.

The strikethrough with open circle is actually as expected - see the icon details here for more info:

Why would it not have an X in the circle showing it is check out by the other user? Or do the X's only show in the basic Vault? I am not sure if I mentioned it we are on Pro 2013... When did it quit showing the X's?

Only Vault Basic retained the "x".

With the introduction of document lifecycles into VW, VC and VP, the status icon became fairly crowded, utilizing fonts and other text changes to relay status became a bit of a necessity so the "x" was dropped in these products in favor of the strikethrough.
