Vault Pro unlocks for edit drawing that is linked with released Item(s)

Vault Pro unlocks for edit drawing that is linked with released Item(s)

Vault unlocks for edit drawing that is linked with released Item(s)

Steps to reproduce.

1. Install standard Inventor samples dataset and create vault-type copy of samples.ipj

2. Run Inventor, activate the project created at step 1, open C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2014\Samples\Models\Assemblies\Engine MKII\Engine MKII.idw

3. Connect Inventor to Vault and check-in the IDW.

4. Run Vault Explorer, execute “Assign Item” command for two files:

Rear Exhaust – 2 Shoe.iam

Rear Exhaust – 3 Shoe.iam

(Views of this models are present at the IDW)

5. Change state of the Items linked to the files to Released.

6. Make sure file “Engine MKII.idw” is now locked for edit.

7. Now change state of either of the two Items to WIP (ex. “Engine- 200R”)

Witness Engine MKII.idw is now unlocked for edits while still linked with second RELEASED Item (ex. with “Engine- 300R”)!!

For me it seem like another defect in Autodesk Vault Professional.

For sure the issue is reproducible on Vault 2014 and 2015 (other released were not tested).
