After upgrading from Vault Collaboration 2010 to VC 2012, We've been noticing that when we open some large assemblies from our local workspace there is a message window that repeatedly pops up and then disappears. The window says "Updating file Status from Vault". On some assemblies with many parts, it can take up to 10 minutes of windows popping up
before the assembly is ready to work on.
The basic workflow is as follows:
1) Opened an assembly from local workspace. Updating file status Popup dialog appears for each file.
2) Checked assembly out of vault. Saved assembly and all children. Everything was migrated.
3) Closed the assembly (did not check it in) and reopened it. Updating file status Popup dialog appears for each file.
4) Checked out all the children from the vault. Checked everything into the vault.
5) Closed the assembly and reopened. Updating file status Popup dialog appears for each file...

How have you been?
I just wanted to mention that we are experiencing this same issue. It was particularly frustrating recently when we were trying to do a presentation at a meeting, & the large assemblies took FOREVER to open because an 'updating file status' dialog kept popping up. We'll be eager for a fix, too.
