Slow performance of Vault

Hi,

Since we have migrated from a win2003 server x86 with SQL 2005 SP4 to a win2008server R2 x64 with also a SQL 2005 SP4, we have a very slow performance issue.

We have not update the server, we have backed up the vault, upgrade the server with 8go ram and install 2008 server R2 x64, then intal ADMS and restore the vault.

Now it's longer when we exctract the files (see attachement)

Also on Inventor when we right click on a part it makes 10 second to open the functionnality.

Do you know where the problem can be ?

Thanks for your reply

Hi,

It's impossible to upgrade from my SQL 2005 SP4 to a SQL 2008...

I have to uninstall SQL 2005 and then install a new version of SQL 2008

But my backup which is made with the older SQL server will restore on a the new SQL 2008 server ???

Could you help me ?

Hi,

SQL does support restoring a sql 2005 backup to sql 2008.

You should however be able to install sql 2008 and upgrade the 2005 database instance in place.

Yes -

No problem with ADMS console backup and restore in this scenario [backup on sql 2005 and restore on sql 2008].
