Migrating VM 2010 to 2012

Has anyone tried migrating to 2012 from 2010 without first migrating to 2011?

We're running Inventor Routed Systems 2010, AutoCAD Electrical 2010 and Vault Mfg 2010 and are planning to upgrade our Vault to 2012 in the near future.

Inventor & ACADE to be upgraded later this year.

Any successes?  Failures?  Recommendations???

Thanks .... Mike

Hi Mike,

I just migrated directly from 2010 to 2012 (first migrating SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 SP2), a vault comprised of an 18 GB DB and an 180 GB FS, with over a half million files; I  have noted no issues during this upgrade.

As always, we recommend creating a test environment to restore your back up as a test (and temporary production if necessary), prior to upgrade of your production server.

Thanks Ron that is definitely encouraging ... we are also looking at upgrading SQL to 2008... we have a development vault that we are going to try migrating before we go anywhere near our production vault....
