The Markup Toolbar has disappeared on some workstations but not all.
After migrating to 2014 some strange behavior has started.
When I first installed VP2014 & IV2014 everything seamed to work fine. After migrating the rest of the group some people commented that they couldn't see the Markup Toolbar when using the ECO process to review files.
normaltoolbar.png is what I would expect to see as the toolbar
Everthing worked and I could create markups Then I got this error.
preview handler.PNG
Now Toolbar is missing.
toolbar missing markup.PNG what I see now for the toolbar
I've witnessed this on serveral machines including my own. I've uninstalled DesignReview & Trueview then reinstalled from the Autodesk website without solving the issue.
If I open DesignReview by it's self the Markup toolbar is there.

Solved by bharath.kumar99. Go to Solution.
Try starting the Vault client as an Administrator. Right click on the Vault client short-cut and select "Run as Administrator" and see if the toolbar appears.
Thanks for the reply;
I've logged into Vault client as administrator with the same results.
I then logged on to computer as administrator & the Vault Client as administrator with same result.
I've done a repair of the Vault installation from the control panel & re-installed SP1, still no Markup Toolbar.

Hi
I am experincing the same issue here. Vault Pro 2014 + SP1 on Windows 8. Design Review 2013, and Inventor 2014 + Update 2.
I tried a repair and re-install of Vault client, Design Review and True View
Mark Up tools come up when opening full version of Design Review but DO NOT come up in the ECO window under files tab, preview

Hi VINCEBALGE4109,
Are you running VP 2014 SP1 on Windows 8?
I can reproduce it on Windows 8, not Windows 7.

Can you test on Windows 7?

Hi,
Exit all application, and please run repaire installation for Autodesk Design Review 2013.
How about toolbar?
Makoto
Hi Makoto,
Thank you for your reply.
I did it with your advise, but same.
Thanks,
Jerry
Hi Makoto
Same here, a repair or/and un-install/re-install of Design Review 2013 makes no difference on Windows 8

Has anyone come up with the solution to this. We're still seeing this behavior.
I'm setting existing user up with new computer. When I installed Vault & Design Review as the administrator everything works a you would expect.
When the user logs in the markup toolbar is missing. If they go back to their old computer toolbar is there.
The solution put forward was to delete the VaultCommon, Productstream and Autodesk Vault Professional 2014 folders from AppData in their user profile.
That does nothing for the problem. I've also tried deleting anything that looks like it could be related to Design Review from the users profile in AppData.
If I have the User log in to my own computer the toolbar is missing. I works correctly when I'm logged into my own computer.
It has to be something in the users profile or the registry, but I can't locate it. We're not using roaming profiles.

Two of my customers are currently experiencing this issue as well (both 25+ seats of Vault Pro). I logged a case with Autodesk a few months ago and received a response that it was sent to the development team. I hope a fix is released soon as the ECO tools were a primary reason they upgraded to Pro.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi All - We've identified a root registry key responsible for showing up the Markup components, the markup tool( but the ADR in general) relies on one of the core microsoft component "Preview Handler Surrogate Host".
Please grant full permission to the user/group on the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node", the subkeys underneath controls the visibility of the Markup component.
Unfortunately these steps didn't fix the solution for my customer. Would you happen to know of any other culprits that could be causing their ECO toolbars to be missing?
Thanks,
Paul Cetnar
