Job Processor Performance

Is there a way to increase the performance of the job processor?  It's not utilizing the computer's resources well.  The processor, harddrive, memory and network look almost idle at times.  The job queue has about 15 parts and drawings that are getting property updates and new visualization files created.  And this is taking FOREVER!

What are the drawbacks to putting the job processor on the individual machines?  I thought I read somewhere that running job processors on user's machines causes Inventor or Vault functionality to be taken away.

As a side note: why can't you see the job queue in the job processor application???  The only way you can view the queue is through Vault.

I just wanted to bring this back up as I agree about the Job Processor licencing.

It is a real shame, I'm ccreating visualization files at night, and unable to have the revision table managed by Vault, because our small company of several users won't be able to buy a dedicated workstation + vault licence + inventor licence + subscription to have the revision table update.  I agree, I don't care how it gets the job done, this is something that should be done without consuming a licence.

See the thing is, the Job Processor doesn't really do anything to help Develope/Design products.  So in a small company, if we are looking at spending the $10,000 to get the licencing/equipment in place required for the Job Processor to run, management is going to want someone sitting behind that computer actually working/developing/designing something that will bring money back into the company.  An updated revision table, while nice, isn't exactly a big money maker at the end of the day, and therefor is tough to justify spending money on when we can do it manually.

Maybe Autodesk is to big of a company, maybe they aren't used to having to be accountable for so many expenses,  but down here it is pretty tough to justify to your boss why you need $10,000 to save 5 minutes updating a revision table, and to replace the job of a free PDF Print Driver, when from an end users perspective it seems like it should be a native function of Vault.
