Software used: Autodesk Vault Pro 2014 SP1 update 1
Problem:It is impossible to compare Item BOM revisions.
Vertical slider on General tab does have two positions (revision 0 and revision 1) and can be moved.
Vertical "Revision:" slider on BOM tab is fixed in upper position ("Latest").
Drop down list just above the slider also has the only value - "Latest"
Drop down list on BOM Item toolbar also has the only value - "Latest"
Question: What I'm doing wrong and how should I compare the revision "0" BOM vs revision "1" BOM?
Thanks in advance.

You don't use the slider... open or edit the item, goto the Bill of Materials tab and along the toolbar you should see the Compare options where you can find the tools to compare BOM revisions
Compare appears to be a way to compare the BOM of two different Items.
On the original question, I am able to use the slider bar on an item that has multiple revisions, in the BOM tab. I cannot compare side by side, but I can look at the BOM from each revision.

Thanks a lot! Yes - indeed we were expecting the thing that is not declared (BOM of WIP revision). The user should have released the revision but haven't did it.
PS: Pay attention that issue was clarified without providing full dataset to Autodesk (that was "best offer" from tech-support).
