I'm using Product design suite ultimate 2014 and Vault Pro 2014. When I got to chcek files in through inventor I always get a message "Identifying Suppresed Files." I work with very big files and setup quite a few levels of detail in order to work witin the model more smoothly. But now since going to 2014 I always get this message when ever I check in. Due to the size of my models it can sometime take 5 to 10 minutes to go through that process before I ever get the actual chcek in screen. I haven't been able to find anything in the options to turn off this feature. Is there a way to disable it?
I'm not aware of a way to disable that in Vault. I believe suppressed files are part of Inventor. Perhaps inquire in the Inventor forums.
Gregg, I'm experiencing the same behaviour. Have you found a solution or workaround for this problem yet?
Hope to hear from you,
Regards,
Nick
I have also large assemblies with different level of details using Inventor 2014 and I've never got this message until now.
I'm thinking about 3 things:
1. When you check files in Vault what mode are you - in Express or Full? I think you should be in Full mode.
2. Do you have files in that assembly that are created in old Inventor version and are still not migrated? Probably this is not the reason but having different versions files at least delay your work.
3. Rebuild is your friend, so before saving your assemblies try always to use this command.
I don't know if this could help but you can try.
Good luck!

I have this same problem, except that right now I'm working in an assembly that may take half an hour to check into vault. I'm not sure how many parts are in it total because I have to use level of detail just to be able to work in it. I am in full mode, you can't open an assembly in both express mode and level of detail. I have made sure that every last part is migrated. I haven't tried the rebuild, but I don't think that this will change. My thought is that in order to check into vault it must know all the files associated with the assembly. Therefore it must find all of the parts that are suppressed in the LOD in order to check it in (in this assembly that number would be in the tens of thousands). This actually makes sense. What I don't understand is why we never saw this before 2014. Is it something that we can bypass or are we forced to live with the long check in times?

I and my colleagues are suffering badly from this as well.
When the LOD model contains ~20k parts and the master is ~80k it is taking over an hour to check in to Vault. This, coupled with Vault's refusal to check assemblies in when components have 'changed' (usually they are in a different LOD than the last time they were checked in and not changed at all) , means I am spending about half of my time waiting for check in.
A really strange thing is that if you have a drawing of the assembly, that and the assembly checks in without going through the Identifying Suppressed Files procedure.
Come on Autodesk this really is unacceptable, there must be a workround.
Hi,
I there anyone who could help us regarding this issue?

Hi Johnson,
Could you please support on this?
We have seen that since the versions 2012 of inventor and Vault (We have migrated from 2012 to 2014 to 2016 to 2018 a few years ago) we are missing some suppressed files in our data-set of Vault professional since that day. This has to do with the Vault behavior, since the 2012 version did not check the suppressed files.
Is there a method that we can restore the missing links that are not available anymore in the data set.

Still an ongoing issue, is there a way to fix this?
It seems that there is still no fix after 6 years. Can anyone comment on this?
This is a real issue for us also. One example is if you have a simplified part file with a suppressed link to a large assembly. Yes the part file will open fast and check out fast. However, when a check in is performed it seems Inventor then needs to open this large assembly in the background so it has access to find suppressed files. This is quite crazy and should allow the user to bypass this operation.
