Error 1024 in Vault 2011 on Copy Design

Hello all,

I am getting an Error 1024 when I want to make a Copy Design and using multi selection. It happens, when I want to de-select content center files. It happens when I want to create a new folder using Copy Design option and content center files are included. If I create new folder, show it in 'Copy Design To:' it works, but I think the option to create the new foldet with Copy Design worked in Vault 2010. Is this a bug?

Best regards,

Alex

Yes, this seems to be a problem with Copy Design and library files.

We have started looking into it.

If you wish to reuse the library files, I believe your video illustrates the way to workaround the problem.

If you wish to copy design the library files unfortunately there may not be a workaround at this moment.

We will update this thread as we know more about the issue.

Hello,

I acctualy don't want to copy library files, but with multi select I can't deselect them. The error doesn't happen when I create the destination folder first and then run copy design.

Possible workaround for now is to create the copy design in place.

  • Do not change the "TO:" location at the top of the dialog box.
  • Change the library files from the copy selection back to reuse.
  • Rename the files or create a prefix that is easily searched (shold you wish) and apply to the files that are being copied.
  • Run the command.
  • Move the files to the desired location.

Ron pointed me to this thread when I asked him about the same problem.

I was able to use his workflow he listed, but after I added the prefix to my filename, I then changed the "TO" section and was able to run it sucessfully.

As I posted before, everything works fine, if I create the destination folder first and I then select it with selection browser on Copy Design To:

Update 2 is required for this hot fix to be applied.

After installing update 2 the patch was able to install. It is now running pretty slow but no errors. Does the update need to be on the server side as well? Could this be the reason for vault slowing down?

Message 14 of 14

correct, please install update 2 on all clients and servers at the same time.  please refer to readme for detail instruction of server upgrade.
