Can we publish visualization for web viewer - Work in progress items

We are near the purchase and implementation of vault pro but are trying of get some questions answered before implementation.

Currently we publish dwf files to a shared folder for all items which are "released". When an item needs to be modified, the file is checked out of vault modified and checked back in to vault. Only once it has been checked back in will the dwf be updated (revision changes could take a day or even a month - No set minimum timeframe). During the modification process production is unware (and must remain unaware) of the fact that changes are taking place. They must simply have acces to the current released dwf and continue manufacturing to that version until the updated version is available.

Here is the question -

How do we publish web view visualizations for items which are work in progess? The catch is that they must be published at the previous version not the current state on the users machine.

Thanks.

Hey there,

Using Items in Vault Professional permits your production/manufacturing staff to access the latest released item complete with the last effective released dwf file.

While the latest effective release is still accessible through the webcliet designers can work for as long as they please on the next design iteration and publish the visualisation file to production only when the item is again approved and released.

Hope this helps,
