See the video below. When I do an "Open" from Vault explorer and say "No" to the "do you want to overwrite" the local file" question, It just stops and does not open the iam. If I say "Yes" to this question, it will open.
I want to open it but not overwrite the exisiting file on my local workspace. I can go to Inventor and it opens fine with the out of date file.
Why is that? Seems to be a bug of some sort.

Here is a video if I say "Yes" to the question. NOT what I want, but just to show that it will open from Vault. http://screencast.com/t/MiXDZ5xCc7

Kirk,
Try your workflow again if you are planning to install Subscription Update 1. The way we work with Edited out of turn files has changed.
I was able to duplicate your workflow and what you saw before the update. Now, after the update Inventor will always open after.

Hywell,
I updated the vault 2014 server and client to update 1. It did not change anything, it still does not open if I select "No" to not overwrite the file.
Kirk
What builder number is listed in help -> about in ADMS Console and the client?
-Hywell
Thats what I thought. The Update 1 that you will want to install is Subscription Update 1, which is available in the Subscription Center.

Thought that I had update 1....what I actually have is Service Pack 1, hotfix 1.
What I need is Service Pack 1, Hotfix 2. I see that on the sub site now.
Why don't they just issue Service Pack 1, then Service Pack , and so on.......etc. Would make it less confusing I guess.
I will give that a shot and report back.
Thanks
At the end of everything, you should have a build number of 18.100.12.0.
