ADMS 2008 Install Failure - Unexpected Error Occurred on a Receive

Installing ADMS 2008 on Win2k Server (SP4). Checks are all OK before
install, but fails near the end of the install with this error: "Error 29001
Vault management error: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected
error occured on a receive." It then rolls back the install. The install
log (up to the failure point) is attached.

This installation is intended to serve Inventor 2008 Content Center.

Any idea what this error message is telling me, and how to fix it?

When you get the 29001 error message before clicking OK launch IE and try to
access following URL
http://localhost/AutodeskDM/Services/SecurityService.asmx

What do you see? [Also make sure that "Show friendly HHTP error messages" is
disabled in IE]

I hope you're able to see the text that follows, copied from IE. Seems to
be a permissions issue, but with what?

There is a problem with a program on the page you are trying to reach,

Hi Sam,

IMO the fastest way to resolve this problem will be to get help from
reseller/Autodesk Support as they will have better access to your
environment.

Apart from checking the read/write/execute permission on folder "C:\Program
Files\Autodesk\Data Management Server 2008\Server\Web\Services" for user
"AutodeskVault", I do not have any other idea.

Sorry.

Thanks for your assistance. With the results shown below, I started poking
into the IIS hierarchy, and found an entry for AutodeskDM showing the
obsolete path to ADMS 5 (which I had uninstalled earlier). This showed an
error, something like "can't be enumerated". I deleted this entry and the
install then proceeded to completion. Life is now good!

Hi Sam,

Glad to hear that you are up and running.

I have a question - How did you uninstall ADMS 5? Because the AutodeskDM
web-app should have been removed during uninstall.

Also thanks for letting the newsgroup community know what was the problem
and how you solved it.

I uninstalled ADMS 5 through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet.
Is that the recommended method?
