How to get a time triggered email reminder from vault metadata?

Have anyone seen/or heard of a tool that sends/or gives dialogbox reminder to follow up a file/folder status change “For Review” and other events?

If one could set a due date/time for a check to be done in a property field, this date/time could trigger a reminder for the person receiving an email with a link. And also send a note to the sender, that this has not been done.

Note: I am not talking about ECO's, but file/folder status changes...

Watch Folder is the closest thing we have to that.  It sends you an email when files get added to folders that you put a "watch" on.  In the background, it is a Job Processor extenstion which checks for changes every time Job Processor cycles.

You can follow that same pattern to do periodic checks and send out emails on anything else going on in Vault.
