*** Computer configuration : ***

Windows XP French SP2 with latest patches from Microsoft (IIS is installed).
Oracle 10gR2 database and client software
Computer Associate eTrust v8 antivirus software
No firewall are running on the computer.

Topobase 2008 administrator French (v5.00.44)
Topobase 2008 client French
Autodesk Mapguide Enterprise 2008 & Studio 2008 French
Topobase 2008 web extension French
Topobase 2008 Water and WasteWater modules installed (client and web).

Autodesk Topobase network license manager (from an Engish Topobase
installation).

*** Computer history : ***

Previously on this computer were running the English version of the
Topobase 2008 software (v5.00.34). Everything was ok : the software were
running fine.

I need to prepare a French machine for demonstration purposes. I
uninstalled the English Topobase software, keeping the LMTools and
server and TB licence file.

I reinstalled the French version of the Topobase (v5.00.44).
And now I have a license issue (see below).

*** Problem description : ***

When running Topobase Client or Administrator I got the error message
(translated into English) :

- - - Beginning of message - - -

Network License Manager could not get a valid license.
Retry. If the problem still arise, please contact your
system administrator

Error [1,5,-5]

- - - End of message - - -

(See attached JPG file containing a screen shot of the error message).

I checked the LMTools installations, configuration and status. So far
everything seems to be OK. Please find below the status and diagnostic
data from LMTools.

I have checked also the computer name and MAC address of the network
adapter : they are both as declared in the license file.

How can I get my Topobase running please ?

Thanks in advance,

Charly

Hello Charly,
I think you use a licence file from TB 2008 BETA. It contains entrys like "57900TOPOBSADM _2008_0P ...".
To use the final TB2008 you need a new licence file with entries like "57900TOPOBSADM_2008_0F..."
I got the same problem in the last days (with the german TB)

Guten tag Henrik,

Yes that was the case... I used my BETA serial number... The main
problem in fact was the license error message : Error [1.5.-5].

With a message a bit more explicit, such as "Improper serial number for
that version of software", it would have been easier to diagnose.

Digging into the FLEXlm docs, I found an environment variable that
enable a debug mode with verbose message. Then I saw that the software
was requiring a "feature" with a number ending with a 'F' (in the debug
message), not a 'P' (in the LIC file). So I asked Autodesk about that...

Vielen Dank für deine Antwort,

Charly

Mine is still having problems with the final and patched version of Topobase 2009. Solution is in disabling IPv6 or checking if you have different versions of Topobase (beta vs final!).
