hey I want to know if there is a way to import materials from a database? I´m not sure how to say it better because I already know that I can create and add a material and by changing the database on job preferences . 

Sorry if its not a good explanation but english its not my 1st language.

I'm not sure if I understand the situation correctly but you may use some xml editor to edit a material database file.
