Mesh Export from Simulation CFD into OpenFoam (with patches?)

Hi,

i wanted to export my mesh generated in CFD Sim to OpenFoam to doublecheck the results there. I used the IdeasUnvToFoam command BUT it does not generate any patches like Inlet, Outlet etc.

Is there a possibilty to do that?

Thanks and regards!

I am not aware of anyone inside of Autodesk that has significant OpenFoam experience on this topic, but maybe there is someone in the community?

One thing that you might want to do with the Simulation CFD mesh is to use this flag: mesh_blsimplex with a value of 1.  This will use tet meshes for the wall elements which maybe hainvg the wedge elements is causing an issue?

I would be surprised, if the translation worked, like you want it to. You may use the autoPatch tool to get separate patches.

Hi,

try to use in Autodesk export mesh as IDEAS and then in OF try to use the ideasUnvToFoam.

I did not try it, but got a comparable issue.
