Is there a limit on the number of parameters that export from Revit to Ops?

We added several parameters to the proper Revit categories such as Mechanical, Mechanical Flow, etc. but not all of them are exporting to BIM 360 Ops. Is there a limit on the number of parameters that will export from Revit to BIM 360 Ops?

Hi,

Parameters in a Revit MEP group will be imported as custom fields in the More Details section. The Revit MEP groups are: Electrical, Electrical – Circuiting, Electrical – Lighting, Electrical – Load, Mechanical, Mechanical – Flow, Mechanical – Loads, and Plumbing. Only shared parameters of type MEP are exported.

If there are other fields to import, you will need to use a spreadsheet.

  • Switch from the asset list view to the graph view
  • Export the assets using the icon in the upper right corner of the graph
  • Do not change columns A and B. Those are used for matching the data.
  • Delete any columns you do not want to update
  • Add new columns for the new custom fields
  • Save the spreadsheet as a csv and import it in the asset list

For more details about the Revit export, please see: https://bim360ops.autodesk.com/blog/preparing-revit-2016-for-handover

Best,

Katie

I have been using that instructions on that link. However, the parameters are not exporting and that is why I asked if there is a limit on the number of parameters that export. The parameters are in the proper categories: Mechanical, Mechanical - Flow, and Mechanical - Loads. I have attached two screen captures of a an mechanical AT unit's Mechanical, Mechanical - Flow, and Mechanical - Loads parameters to show you the parameters. I have also included a screen capture of the BIM 360 Ops details (more) for the same AT unit and that most of the custom parameters are missing.

Thank you,

Hi Michael,

We don't have number limitation, but if the parameter has no value (empty), it wouldn't be imported to ops, we only import parameters with values.

Best Regards,

Thanks

Steven

The solution to add data to the parameters prior to exporting from Revit to BIM 360 Ops worked.

The Revit parameters imported into Ops when I added data to them. However, the data entered is place holder data such as zeros for RPMs, AMPs, etc. We have a third party entering the actual data as they collect it. The third party wants to enter the data via spreadsheet where it will be more productive. However, when I exported from Ops to .CSV the custom parameters that show in Ops are not exporting. I've included a screen capture from Ops with the custom field highlighted in yellow and a the exported Ops spreadsheet with the missing fields. Can this issue be solved?

Thank you.
